What’s a “Bud-Eye” and where do I cut?

These are BUD-EYEs, which are usually above a leaf.  You will see a “leaf scar” if there is no leaf.  This is where the new rose branch will grow!

You want to cut above the “BUD-EYE” at an 45 degree angle 1/4 – 1/2 inch from Bud-Eye (the ANGLE is not all that important, just don’t cut too close to Bud-Eye)

Angled cut 1/4″ above
OUTWARD facing bud eye (outward is to the right on this plant)

Finished cut to an OUTWARD Bud-Eye! Congratulations!
